If you are a beginner then this is the started set you need. Use the tools for the following:
Brass brush - a circular motion gives a brushed stainless steel effect to take the shine off the metal. Good to make an area of contrast.
Ball & Cup - from the reverse side of the metal in a round circular motion emboss the ball to make a puffed circle on the front. Place your metal on the acrylic mat, and place the 'cup' over the 'ball' to refine the edges.
Teflon Point - the most used tool, this is great to outline stamped images, but also the final step in refining a mould. On the other end of this tool is....
Embossing Point - a fine metal point that can be used to create fine dot designs and many other freestyle designs onto metal.
Fine wheel - a fine faintly diagonal line which make a nice addition to the edge of an embossed area, or can be used like all other texture wheels , to add texture.
Coarse dot wheel - a texture wheel that makes a great dotted edge.
